Job summary

GKN Automotive Portugal Limitada is seeking an Accounting Specialist to ensure accuracy of the General Ledger and financial statements, including month-end activities and journal postings. You will perform AR-related tasks, reconciliations, and collaborate with the GL team to support closing processes.

The role requires strong accounting knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a hybrid work environment. English language proficiency is required.

Responsibilities

Job Description Summary

What’s the role about?
We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our team. You will add value and will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the General Ledger and financial statements. This includes performing month-end activities, calculating and posting journals (including accruals), GL account reconciliations, reviewing and analysing the General Ledger.

What you’ll do?

• Process the cash remittances application (cash allocation) on a daily basis.
• Preparation of reports that detail balances due or what to collect from customers at a certain point in time
• Support the AR aging analysis with operational information examining balance statements of accountholders.
• Prepare credit / collection reports
• Work closely with other Finance teams, such as the GL team, in the provision of support to colleagues.
• Ensure feedback to line manager.
• Execution of month-end task of assigned market: AR reconciliations, reports, ageing, booking of AR entries/documents, etc.
• Propose changes to processes, continuous improvement mindset
• Participation and lead when required Team projects
