Aam in Porto, Portugal is seeking an Accounting Specialist to ensure accuracy of the General Ledger and financial statements, including month-end activities and journal postings.

You will process cash remittances daily, prepare aging and collection reports, support AR analyses with operational data, and collaborate with the GL team to improve financial processes in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an accountant.
• Strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles.
• Good financial, analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work unsupervised and meet tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of ERP systems and workflow processes.
• English language proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Process the cash remittances application (cash allocation) daily.
• Prepare reports detailing balances due or collections needed.

• Prepare credit / collection reports.
• Collaborate with GL and other Finance teams for support.
• Participate in month-end tasks including AR reconciliations and bookings.
• Suggest process improvements and lead team projects when required.

Job Description Summary

We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our team. You will add value and will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the General Ledger and financial statements. This includes performing month-end activities, calculating and posting journals (including accruals), GL account reconciliations, reviewing and analysing the General Ledger.

Job Description:

What you'll do?

• Process the cash remittances application (cash allocation) on a daily basis.
• Preparation of reports that detail balances due or what to collect from customers at a certain point in time
• Support the AR aging analysis with operational information examining balance statements of accountholders.
• Prepare credit / collection reports
• Work closely with other Finance teams, such as the GL team, in the provision of support to colleagues.
• Ensure feedback to line manager.
• Execution of month-end task of assigned market: AR reconciliations, reports, ageing, booking of AR entries/documents, etc.
• Propose changes to processes, continuous improvement mindset
• Participation and lead when required Team projects

Required Skills and Education
