Job summary

Hubexo in Lisbon is looking for an Accountant to manage accounting cycles and support tax compliance across Iberian activities. Hybrid Lisbon office, collaboration with international teams, and growth toward Senior Accounting & Tax Specialist are on offer.

You will handle journals, reconciliations, IFRS reporting and VAT/tax drafting, working with auditors and peers to improve processes and systems. Strong Excel and ERP experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of practical accounting or audit experience, including journals and reconciliations.
• Knowledge of Portuguese accounting standards (SNC), VAT and corporate income tax.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Management or equivalent.
• Advanced Excel and experience with an accounting/ERP system; good English for international work.

Here at Hubexo, you’ll put your experience to work across the accounting cycle, and get ready to take ownership of complete processes, developing towards a Senior Accounting & Tax Specialist role.

You’ll join our Lisbon finance team, supporting Simplifae’s Iberian businesses within the Hubexo Group.

What you’ll do

• Prepare and review journals, reconcile accounts and investigate differences.
• Prepare financial statements and contribute to monthly, quarterly and annual closing.
• Prepare tax information and draft returns, including VAT and corporate income tax.
• Work with finance colleagues, international teams and auditors, and help improve processes and the way we use our systems.

Reporting to our Head of Accounting, Tax & Treasury, you’ll build greater independence in tax compliance and deepen your IFRS knowledge. We’ll support you on your journey towards senior accounting and tax work.

What you’ll bring

• Practical accounting or audit experience, typically gained over two to four years, including journals, reconciliations and IFRS reporting.
• Working knowledge of Portuguese accounting standards (SNC), experience drafting tax returns and an understanding of VAT and corporate income tax.
• A degree in Accounting, Finance, Management or an equivalent qualification.
• Advanced Excel, experience with an accounting or ERP system, and English you can use confidently with international colleagues.
