Verisure (in Portugal known as Securitas Direct) is seeking a talented, innovative, hands-on and passionate Accountant to join our Shared Services Center Team, with colleagues in France, Norway, Ireland and UK. The role will report to the Shared Services Center Manager and will be based in Lisbon.

This is an exciting new established role that will be working together with senior professionals across our European markets and interact with local operations. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow in their role and showcase strong leadership and teambuilding capabilities.

On the back of the extraordinary growth we have enjoyed in the past years, we aim to strengthen our Shared Services Center team and further develop the Accounting function. This Accountant will be a key member of the team and play a critical role to achieve this objective.

Responsibilities will include, among others:

Cost analysis
Accruals and Reconciliations
Fixed assets
HFM and Oracle reports
Point of Contact for internal and external stakeholders
Review and assure proper classification of cost center and accounts on Journal Entries
Weekly and Month-end closing procedures including Reconciliation report
Assist manager and peers on the daily activity
Performing ad hoc Accounts Payable and Procurement duties as required
Collaboration with local finance specialists to accounting, tax, annual reports etc. to ensure adherence to local legislation

The position will be based in Lisbon (Portugal)

This position will report directly to the Shared Services Center Manager, based in Lisbon

Experience and Qualifications

We see this role as critical for the achievement of Verisure’s growth and organizational transformation goals while the Shared Services Center aims for centralization and automation.

As a result, we are looking for a self-starter and high potential / top performer individual who will combine Accounting knowledge with a proactive business mindset focused on driving value to the business.

Education degree in Finance / Economics / Accounting / Business with deep understanding of Accounting and financial concepts (qualified accountant ideal)
Strong interest for Accounting
Experienced professional with approx. 5 yrs track-record within Accounting in an international environment
Fluent in written and spoken English
Ability to work in a fast-paced international environment
Methodical and high attention to detail
Enjoys working with a variety of IT systems
Organized and with an appetite for improving existing processes
An enthusiastic and high energy individual with a strong drive to create a positive work environment
