Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking a Security Manager for the CEE Zone, based in Warsaw or Budapest. You will drive governance, risk management, and incident readiness across multiple countries, leading country security leaders and coordinating with regional stakeholders to implement global standards and secure operations.

The role requires 8+ years in security/risk management, a strong matrix-organization mindset, and fluent English.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Risk Management, Criminal Justice, Business Management, or a related field (master’s preferred).
  • 8+ years’ experience in a security/risk management role
  • Experience working in a complex matrix organization
  • Stakeholder management across cultures, functions, and seniority with influencing/negotiating skills
  • Understanding of Business Operations structures and ways of working
  • Decisive and ownership mindset
  • Fluent in English

Responsibilities

  • Governance and oversight: ensure consistent application of global and regional security policies across the zone.
  • Guide and support country security leaders and ensure alignment with governance and performance expectations.
  • Oversee onboarding, competency development, and performance management for the zone security team.
  • Coordinate security awareness and share lessons learned to reinforce a security culture locally.
  • Support standardization and optimization of security systems and technologies.
  • Monitor zone KPIs and provide concise updates to Regional Security Leader.
  • Serve as liaison between country security communities, zone leadership, and cross-functional teams.
  • Oversee implementation and maintenance of security frameworks and standards across all countries in the zone.
  • Support compliance reviews, ensuring controls are validated, documented, and improved.
  • Risk management: coordinate risk and threat assessments across all countries, track controls, monitor effectiveness, and identify vulnerabilities.
  • Incident management: support incident response, coordinate escalation to region for high-risk events, and contribute to crisis preparedness and after-action reviews.
  • Be an agent of change with strong analytics and data management.

Mission

The Zone Security Leader supports the Regional Security Leader by driving the operational execution of security programs across multiple countries within the zone. This role ensures consistent implementation of global and regional policies, oversees country security leaders, and strengthens day‑to‑day performance, compliance, and incident readiness.

The Zone Security Leader acts as the primary coordination point between regional strategy and local execution.

What You’ll Do
Governance & Oversight:
  • consistent application of global and regional security policies, standards, and procedures across the zone.
  • Guide and support country security leaders, ensuring alignment with regional governance, performance expectations, and team development processes.
  • Oversee onboarding, competency development, and performance management activities for the zone security team.
  • Coordinate security awareness efforts, sharing lessons learned, best practices, and updates to reinforce a strong security culture at the local level.
  • Support the standardization and optimization of security systems and technologies, ensuring alignment with regional and global operating models.
  • Monitor and track zone-level KPIs, drive local follow-up actions, and provide concise, accurate updates to the Regional Security Leader.
  • Serve as the zone security liaison, ensuring effective communication between country-level security communities, zone leadership, and cross‑functional teams.
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of security frameworks and standards, ensuring harmonized execution across all countries in the zone.
  • Support compliance and assurance reviews, ensuring controls are regularly validated, documented, and continuously improved.
Risk Management:
  • Coordinate risk and threat assessments across all countries in the zone, ensuring consistent methodology and timely identification of emerging risks.
  • Track and support the implementation of security controls and projects, ensuring alignment with Group standards and escalating deviations or roadblocks.
  • Monitor control effectiveness and identify recurring vulnerabilities or systemic gaps, sharing insights with regional leadership for strategic action.
  • Provide local operational advisories to help country leaders make informed decisions and maintain appropriate risk posture.
Incident Management:
  • Support country security leaders in incident response, ensuring timely reporting, accurate documentation, and consistent application of corrective actions.
  • Coordinate incident escalation to the region for high‑risk events and ensure clear, structured communication throughout the lifecycle of the incident.
  • Support crisis response and preparedness activities, including exercises, ensuring alignment with global and regional protocols.
  • Contribute to after‑action reviews, identifying trends, ensuring implementation of corrective actions across countries, and reinforcing process improvements to reduce future risk.
What You'll Bring
