Job summary

Infolet Kraków is seeking an experienced VMware vSphere Administrator to join an international technology environment focused on enterprise virtualisation infrastructure.

You will manage vSphere 8/ESXi 8, vCenter Server, and related resilience features, with a strong emphasis on automation, security, and reliable performance in a hybrid Kraków setting.

Qualifications

• Experience with VMware vSphere 8/ESXi 8 in enterprise production environments.
• Advanced knowledge of vCenter Server including lifecycle administration.
• Deep understanding of virtualization technologies and related components.
• Experience with vSphere HA, DRS, vMotion, Storage vMotion, and admission control.
• Networking and storage expertise in VMware environments.
• Experience with Linux/UNIX (RHEL) and Windows Server administration.
• Strong troubleshooting, incident management, and communication skills.
• Very good English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and optimise VMware vSphere 8/ESXi 8 environments.
• Manage vCenter Server, clusters, permissions, and alarms.
• Configure vSphere HA, DRS, vMotion, and Storage vMotion for resilience.
• Manage virtual networking, switches, datastores, and storage connectivity.
• Handle ESXi deployments, patching, and lifecycle management.
• Monitor performance, investigate incidents, and conduct root-cause analysis.
• Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.

• Collaborate across infra, network, storage, security, and app teams.
• Participate in on-call support and planned maintenance.

Kraków ( Hybrid - 2 days in the office / 3 days remote )

PROJECT

Join an international technology environment focused on maintaining and improving enterprise virtualisation infrastructure.

We are looking for an experienced VMware vSphere Administrator with strong expertise in VMware vSphere 8, ESXi 8, and vCenter Server to ensure the stability, availability, security, and performance of critical infrastructure services.

The role combines hands-on infrastructure administration, troubleshooting, automation, and continuous improvement, with a strong focus on maintaining reliable and resilient virtualised environments.

YOU WILL

• Administer, maintain, and optimise VMware vSphere 8 and ESXi 8 environments, ensuring high availability, stability, and performance.
• Manage vCenter Server, including clusters, resource pools, permissions, roles, alarms, and infrastructure inventory.
• Configure and maintain vSphere HA, DRS, vMotion, and Storage vMotion to ensure infrastructure resilience and efficient resource utilisation.
• Manage virtual networking and storage configurations, including switches, VLANs, datastores, and storage connectivity.
• Perform ESXi host deployments, upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, investigate incidents, and perform root-cause analysis of virtualisation issues.
• Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes for virtualised environments.
• Implement infrastructure changes and improvements with a focus on automation, security, performance, and availability.
• Support administration and troubleshooting of Linux/UNIX and Windows Server environments.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, network, storage, security, and application teams to resolve technical issues.
• Ensure compliance with IT Service Management standards, SLAs, and security requirements.
• Participate in on-call support, planned maintenance, and critical incident resolution.

MUST HAVE

• Strong hands-on experience administering VMware vSphere 8 and ESXi 8 in enterprise production environments.
• Advanced knowledge of vCenter Server, including cluster management, permissions, monitoring, and lifecycle administration.
• Deep understanding of virtualisation technologies, including VMs, clusters, resource pools, templates, snapshots, and virtual hardware.
• Practical experience with vSphere HA, DRS, vMotion, Storage vMotion, and admission control.
• Good knowledge of VMware networking, including standard and distributed switches, VLANs, NIC teaming, and network troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of VMware storage technologies, including VMFS, NFS, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, multipathing, and datastores.
• Experience with ESXi deployment, patching, upgrades, and vSphere Lifecycle Manager.
• Strong troubleshooting skills related to VM performance, host failures, storage capacity, and network connectivity.
• Knowledge of backup, restore, disaster recovery, monitoring, and capacity planning.
• Solid Linux/UNIX administration skills, particularly RHEL, including Bash scripting, networking, services, and patching.
• Good knowledge of Windows Server, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and PowerShell.
• Experience integrating VMware with enterprise storage, backup, monitoring, and identity-management solutions.
• Good understanding of Incident, Problem, and Change Management, including SLAs and operational risk.
• Experience maintaining and supporting business-critical infrastructure.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Very good English, both written and spoken.

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management, including PowerCLI, PowerShell, or Ansible.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow.
• Knowledge of German.
