Job summary

Sii Poland is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Migration Engineer to support a VMware migration program. You will work on migrating virtual machines from legacy ESXi/vSphere to VMware Cloud Foundation 9.1 workload domains, using HCX vMotion and related tooling.

The role involves validation, planning, and coordination with NSX-T teams to ensure smooth migrations and minimal downtime. The position demands hands-on VMware expertise, 5+ years of experience, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in VMware platform environments, with hands-on experience in VMware vSphere, vCenter Server, and ESXi.
• Proven experience migrating production VMs between VMware environments, ideally multi-cluster/multi-site/multi-tenant.
• Solid understanding of vMotion, Storage vMotion, DRS, HA, resource pools, clusters, datastores, VM hardware versions, VMware Tools, vDS networking, and VMkernel networking.
• Essential VMware Cloud Foundation 9.1 skills, including management and lifecycle concepts.
• Hands-on experience with VMware HCX or VCF workload mobility tooling and deploying HCX components.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end migration of virtual machines from legacy VMware environments into VMware Cloud Foundation workload domains.
• Execute migrations using HCX vMotion and best-suited methods per workload.
• Validate source and destination readiness including vCenter, ESXi, storage, network, HCX, NSX-T, DNS, monitoring, and backups.
• Identify migration blockers such as unsupported VM configurations, active snapshots, or high-change-rate disks.
• Group workloads into migration waves based on dependencies, network segments, and business impact.
• Support pre-, during-, and post-migration validation including power-on checks and application validation.
• Collaborate with NSX-T networking teams to validate segments, overlay networking, NAT, and firewall policies.
• Troubleshoot migration issues across vCenter, ESXi, HCX, NSX-T, vMotion, storage, and DNS.
• Produce and maintain migration documentation, trackers, risk/issues, and lessons learned.
