Job summary

Sii Poland is seeking an Infrastructure Migration Engineer to support a migration program moving virtual machines from legacy VMware ESXi/vSphere environments to VMware Cloud Foundation 9.1 workload domains. The role emphasizes VMware expertise and careful change control to minimize downtime.

You will lead end-to-end migrations, validate readiness across vCenter, ESXi, storage, NSX-T, and networking, and document progress and lessons learned.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in VMware platform environments.
• Proven experience migrating production virtual machines between VMware environments, ideally across multi-cluster, multi-site, or multi-tenant platforms.
• Fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end migration of virtual machines from legacy VMware ESXi/vSphere environments into VMware Cloud Foundation 9.1 workload domains.
• Execute migrations using HCX vMotion.
• Validate source and destination readiness before migration activity across vCenter, ESXi, storage, network, HCX, NSX-T, DNS, monitoring, backup, and application owner dependencies.
• Group workloads into migration waves based on dependencies, network segments, business criticality, maintenance windows, customer impact, and rollback options.
• Support pre-, during, and post-migration validation including power-on checks, network reachability, and operational handover.
• Produce and maintain migration documentation including trackers, wave status, failures, risk/issues, and lessons learned.
