Job summary

Amaris Consulting in Tokyo is seeking a VHF Consultant to join our airport operations team. You will maintain and optimize VHF communication systems for air-ground and ground-ground operations, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will join our team in Tokyo, supporting airport operations as a Very High Frequency (VHF) Consultant. You will play a key role in maintaining and optimizing communication systems critical to air-ground and ground-ground operations, ensuring safety and compliance within a dynamic airport environment.

Your Missions:

• Maintain airport VHF systems, including routine checks, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring.
• Support communication infrastructure used for air-ground and ground-ground operations.
• Conduct system diagnostics to identify faults, interference, or signal degradation.
• Perform equipment maintenance, including antenna systems, transceivers, and related hardware.
• Coordinate with airport technical teams for operational support and incident resolution.
• Document technical activities such as maintenance logs, incident reports, and system updates.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with Japanese aviation communication standards.
• Support hybrid work operations with on-site airport duties and remote monitoring tasks.

Your Profile:

• Strong motivation to learn and work with VHF communication systems in aviation or critical infrastructure environments, as well as RF fundamentals, including signal propagation, interference, and antenna behavior.
• Keen interest in hands‑on hardware maintenance, with the desire to work closely with servers and related infrastructure for troubleshooting, maintenance, and performance optimization.
• Excellent documentation skills, with the ability to prepare clear and accurate reports, technical records, and compliance‑related documentation in line with project and regulatory requirements.
• Comfortable with a hybrid work model, demonstrating flexibility to perform both on‑site and remote tasks according to project needs.
• Hands‑on hardware skills for transceiver and antenna maintenance.
• Experience in airport environments under strict safety and operational protocols.
• Japanese and English fluent.
• Comprehensive training will be provided to ensure the successful candidate acquires the necessary technical knowledge and project readiness before taking on operational responsibilities.
