Job summary

Amaris Consulting is seeking a PLC Lifecycle Engineer to manage the full lifecycle of PLCs across multiple manufacturing plants in the pharmaceutical & life sciences sector. You will onboard, provision, configure and coordinate firmware updates, change management and security controls to ensure reliable operations.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years of PLC/Industrial Automation experience.
  • Hands-on PLC platform experience with major vendors.
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g. Profinet, EtherNet/IP, OPC UA, Modbus TCP).
  • Familiarity with containerized platforms, Kubernetes, Linux and Windows Server environments.
  • Experience with monitoring, identity & access management, vulnerability & patch management, and disaster recovery tools.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Your profile?

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering or a comparable discipline.
  • 3–5 years of experience as PLC Engineer / Industrial Automation Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Hands-on experience with PLC platforms and tools such as Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider Electric, Beckhoff and SDA/Energchart.
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g. Profinet, EtherNet/IP, OPC UA, Modbus TCP).
  • Familiarity with containerized industrial platforms, Kubernetes, Linux and Windows Server environments.
  • Experience with monitoring and diagnostic platforms, identity & access management tools, vulnerability & patch management tools, and backup & disaster recovery technologies.
  • Ability to use scripting tools to automate tasks and improve PLC lifecycle processes.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in GxP-regulated environments and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Previous exposure to OT/IT convergence projects and industrial cybersecurity.
