Job summary

Citi's Valuation Control Group (VCG) in the Finance Division seeks a senior finance analyst to perform valuation control processes and own IPV, valuation adjustments, and fair value levelling.

The role requires 5–10 years in finance, strong analytical and communication skills, and knowledge of accounting/regulatory developments in valuation. This position offers extensive benefits and a defined contribution pension plan.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, or related discipline.
  • 5–10 years of professional experience in Finance, preferably in Valuations, Product Control, Risk, Financial Control, or similar functions.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills to articulate valuation results to management.
  • Knowledge of global accounting and regulatory developments related to valuation of financial instruments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform IPV, valuation adjustments, and fair value levelling.
  • Own identified valuation discrepancies and investigate root causes.
  • Develop and document valuation control policies and procedures.
  • Ensure timely remediation of regulatory matters and audit findings.
  • Represent VCG in cross-functional initiatives with auditors/regulators.
  • Contribute to projects strengthening the valuation control framework.
  • People management responsibilities may apply depending on role.

Job description

The Valuation Control Group (VCG) is an independent team of subject matter experts within the Finance Division. VCG's primary responsibility is to reasonably ensure that risk portfolios are fairly valued in accordance with applicable standards and regulatory requirements. In doing so, the team works closely with its stakeholders, including senior management, business heads, product controllers, market risk, regulators, and both internal and external audit.

As part of the team of diverse and supportive professionals, the main tasks are concerned with performing valuation control processes for various businesses within Citi's Institutional Clients Group.

We are seeking a highly motivated candidate to work within the Valuation Control Group as a senior finance analyst.

What You'll Do
  • Perform valuation control related core production: Independent Price Verification (IPV), Valuation Adjustments, Fair Value Levelling.
  • Take full ownership of identified valuation discrepancies, conducting thorough investigations into root causes, collaborating with relevant teams for timely resolution, and clearly communicating findings to management.
  • Drive the development, enhancement, and documentation of valuation control policies, procedures, and methodologies with particular attention to the design of controls, incorporating evolving industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure timely remediation of regulatory matters requiring attention, audit findings and reporting demands associated with the area of responsibility.
  • Represent VCG in various cross-functional initiatives, working groups, and discussions with internal and external auditors or regulatory bodies.
  • Actively contribute to strategic projects aimed at strengthening the firm's valuation control framework and improving operational efficiency.
  • People management dependent on the level and scope of the position.
What We'll Need From You
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, or a closely related quantitative discipline.
  • 5-10 years' professional experience in Finance (preferably in Valuations, Product Control, Risk, Financial Control, or similar functions).
  • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, with a proven track record of resolving complex valuation issues independently.
  • Strong understanding of current global accounting and regulatory developments pertaining to valuation of financial instruments.
  • In-depth knowledge of a broad range of financial instruments, market dynamics, and valuation methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts and valuation results effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior management
  • Strong computer literacy with special regards to Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in leading, mentoring, or coaching teams is highly desirable for certain roles within this function.

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

zł165,020.00 - zł411,650.00
