Job summary

The Sostmeier Group in Poland is expanding its transport operations in Bieruń and seeks an experienced Transport Manager to lead the local team and drive operational excellence. You will work hands-on in a growing department to ensure high customer satisfaction and competitive service levels.

Responsibilities include team leadership, daily transport coordination, KPI-based process improvements, budgeting, and developing new customer relationships. Strong English and IT affinity are essential.

Qualifications

• A university degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or equivalent.
• Several years of practical experience in operational management of a transport department.
• Strong leadership and communication skills in a team setting.
• Experience in developing new client business and preparing proposals.
• Good English skills and strong affinity for IT.

Transport Manager

Operational hands on

Objective:

Responsible of our transport organisation in Poland. Coordinating and collaborating in a team of app. 30 employees (Transport Coordinator + Driver) to ensure a high customer satisfaction and competitiveness. Working fully operational, hands-on. Development of our transport organisation in Europe.

Your Responsibilities:

• Functional and disciplinary management of your team
• Involved in and Collaborating on the daily transport coordination. Hands on mentality.
• Key-figure-based management with request to optimize processes
• Support and development of existing customers, as well as participation in acquiring potential new customers
• Preparation of quotes for new business
• Management of external service providers
• Budgeting and reporting to the senior management

Your Profile:

• A university degree with a focus on logistics, supply chainmanagement, business administration, or a completed advanced vocational training program ideally in logistics and transportation.
• Several years of practical experience in the operational management of a transport department
• Strong leadership skills
• Experience in developing new client business, including preparing proposals
• Knowledge of the design and costing as well as the onboarding of new customers
• Empathetic and communicative personality
• Ability to solve problems based on KPIs and to implement improvement measures
• Good English skills and strong affinity for IT.
