Job summary

ALTEN Polska is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer in Kraków to lead end-to-end test automation across the application portfolio. You will design, implement, and maintain Playwright-based automation for React apps, backend tests in .NET, and frontend tests, while integrating everything into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.

You will own the automation roadmap, collaborate with developers on acceptance criteria, and drive quality improvements.

Qualifications

5+ years of commercial experience in test automation with hands-on framework development.
Strong C#/.NET skills—ability to write, debug, and review production-grade code.
Expertise in Playwright (or Selenium with transition to Playwright).
Experience with xUnit/NUnit and Vitest/Jest in unit/integration tests.
CI/CD integration with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
SQL (MSSQL/Azure SQL) for test data setup and validation.
REST API testing—contract validation, status codes, and auth (JWT/OAuth/Azure AD).
Highly autonomous—own automation roadmap end-to-end.

Responsibilities

Own and evolve automated testing processes for the application portfolio—frameworks, standards, tools, and best practices.
Design and implement test strategies across unit, API, integration, and E2E layers.
Develop and maintain E2E automation in Playwright for React apps, backend tests in xUnit/.NET, frontend tests in Vitest/Jest.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps)—PR checks, nightly runs, pre-release gates, and post-deploy validation with parallel/sharded execution.
Promote testing best practices: testability, coverage, assertions, data management, and clean test code.
Validate data flows across Azure SQL, ODS, and DWH; design data-driven scenarios and test data management.
Drive root-cause analysis, flaky-test management, and publish quality metrics for stakeholders.
Collaborate with developers on acceptance criteria and test coverage; review test code in PRs.
Support UAT coordination—prepare environments and verify business scenarios.

What You’ll Do

Own and evolve automated testing processes for the application portfolio—frameworks, standards, tools, and best practices.

Requirements

5+ years of commercial experience in test automation with hands-on framework development.
Strong C#/.NET skills—ability to write, debug, and review production-grade code, not just test harnesses.
Expertise in Playwright (or Selenium with a willingness to transition to Playwright).
Practical experience with xUnit/NUnit and Vitest/Jest—unit and integration test design.
CI/CD integration with Azure DevOps (or GitHub Actions).
SQL (MSSQL/Azure SQL)—test data setup, validation of transformations, and diagnostic queries.
REST API testing—contract validation, status codes, and authentication flows (JWT/OAuth/Azure AD).
Highly autonomous—ability to own the automation roadmap end-to-end and set standards for the team.
Strong Git practices, code review discipline, and clean test code standards.
Fluent English (B2+) for technical communication.
