ALTEN Polska in Kraków is seeking a skilled UI Designer to craft high-quality interfaces from initial requirements, build wireframes and interactive prototypes, and ensure consistency with design systems and accessibility best practices.

You will collaborate with product and engineering teams in a hybrid setting, contributing to a growing UX program and supporting brand-driven UI across digital products.

Qualifications

• Portfolio demonstrating strong UI design craft for digital products (web apps included).
• Experience with design systems and reusable components/patterns.
• Understanding of usability and accessibility principles.

Location: Kraków (hybrid, 8–6 office visits/month)

UI Design & Prototyping

• Create high-quality UI designs from requirements and early UX direction, including layouts, components, states, and responsive behavior.
• Produce wireframes and high-fidelity mock-ups, and build interactive prototypes to support agile prioritization, discussion, and delivery.
• Apply customer experience best practices, libraries, and frameworks to deliver consistent UI across the product.
• Maintain strong attention to detail across typography, spacing, color, iconography, and interaction states to ensure a polished finish.
• Contribute to collaboration with the brand team on an emerging design system.

Design Systems

• Use and contribute to design systems and component libraries (e.g., patterns, tokens, documentation) to improve consistency and speed of delivery.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure accurate implementation of UI designs and resolve UI issues found during build and testing.
• Collaborate with the brand team to ensure consistency with other design systems.
• Support accessibility and inclusive design by ensuring UI meets agreed standards (e.g., contrast, focus states, keyboard navigation considerations).

Cross-Team Collaboration

• Collaborate with product owners, developers, and users to deliver UI solutions aligned with business objectives and user needs.
• Utilize tools like JIRA and Kanban boards to ensure structured collaboration with Technology and Product teams.
• Collaborate with the UI Lead and the design team to maintain UI and UX consistency across all designs.

Requirements

Experience and Knowledge:

• A portfolio demonstrating strong UI design craft for digital products (including web applications), with high-fidelity screens and component-based design.
• Experience working with design systems and applying reusable components and patterns.
• Working knowledge of usability and accessibility principles and how they influence UI decisions.
• Interest in emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI/Gen AI) and how they shape product experiences.
• Comfortable using English (spoken and written) in day-to-day work, including participating in team discussions and presenting updates in English when needed.

Skills:

• Strong visual design skills (layout, typography, color, hierarchy) and attention to detail.
• Clear communication skills to explain design decisions and collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, work at pace, and iterate quickly based on feedback.
• Proactive attitude, self-motivated, goal-oriented, and passionate about staying up to date on the latest technology advancements and their benefits to internal teams and colleagues.
