Role: Technical Project Manager - DevOps & Platform Transformation

We are looking for a Technical Project Manager to lead complex DevOps, infrastructure, and engineering platform transformation initiatives in a fintech environment. This role will support a technology organization that is currently heavily on‑premise, with platform standardization, tooling consolidation, team onboarding, and future cloud adoption as key priorities.

You will manage projects such as engineering platform onboarding, SDLC tooling consolidation and migrations, CI/CD process improvements, infrastructure coordination, and adoption of shared DevOps standards. The role requires strong technical fluency, structured delivery discipline, and the ability to coordinate across engineering, DevOps, infrastructure, vendors, and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage complex DevOps, SDLC, platform, infrastructure, and migration projects from planning through execution and closure.

  • Coordinate onboarding of teams, repositories, applications, and workflows onto shared engineering platforms and standardized delivery processes.

  • Lead platform consolidation and migration initiatives, such as multiple GitLab instance migrations, artifact/tooling changes, and related SDLC platform transitions.

  • Build and maintain project plans, migration waves, dependency maps, risk registers, cutover plans, rollback plans, communication plans, and status reporting.

  • Work closely with engineering, DevOps, infrastructure, service owners, vendors, and business stakeholders to align scope, sequencing, ownership, timelines, and readiness criteria.

  • Facilitate technical discussions, track decisions and blockers, and translate complex engineering topics into clear delivery actions and stakeholder updates.

  • Support change management, adoption planning, user communication, documentation, training coordination, post‑migration validation, and operational handover.

  • Apply AI/LLM assistants (e.g., Claude, Codex) hands‑on to sharpen analysis,

  • artifacts, and reporting, and help build reusable AI‑enabled delivery templates for the wider team.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Strong experience managing technical projects in DevOps, infrastructure, platform engineering, enterprise tooling, or technology transformation environments, including migrations, consolidations, onboarding programs, or tooling rollouts.

  • Good understanding of SDLC, CI/CD, source control, issue tracking, release processes, engineering tooling, infrastructure dependencies, access models, and operational support models.

  • Strong stakeholder and dependency management skills, with the ability to balance cross‑team priorities, risks, blockers, and vendors, and to translate technical detail into clear plans and executive‑ready updates.

  • Experience with delivery and engineering collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, ServiceNow, or similar platforms.

  • Comfortable using AI‑assisted productivity tools to improve planning, summaries, documentation, follow‑ups, and delivery visibility.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in fintech, banking, trading, payments, or another regulated environment.

  • Experience with GitLab migrations, DevOps platform consolidation, or enterprise SDLC tooling transformation.

  • Familiarity with on‑premise infrastructure and data center environments, plus exposure to cloud adoption, hybrid cloud, or cloud migration planning (GCP, AWS, Azure).

  • Experience building reusable migration playbooks, onboarding frameworks, stakeholder dashboards, or executive reporting.

Qualifications

  • Typically 5+ years of experience in technical project management, delivery management, program coordination, DevOps, infrastructure, platform transformation, or related roles.

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or a related field is beneficial, but equivalent practical experience is equally valued.

  • Project management certifications are beneficial but not required when matched by strong technical delivery experience.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a technically fluent project manager who can bring structure to complex platform and infrastructure initiatives. They understand that migrations and onboarding programs are not only timelines and tickets, but also dependency management, stakeholder alignment, user adoption, risk control, rollback planning, and clear communication.

They are comfortable working with engineering, DevOps, and infrastructure teams in an on‑premise‑heavy environment, while helping the organization move toward more standardized, modern, and eventually cloud‑enabled ways of working. They are pragmatic about using modern tooling, including AI‑assisted productivity tools, to improve clarity, reduce manual coordination effort, and keep complex initiatives organized.

Work Arrangement

  • Hybrid role based in Warsaw, with three days per week in the office.
