Job summary

MagentaTeam in Poland is seeking an experienced DevOps/Cloud Engineer to own deployment, operation, and reliability of cloud-based applications. You will monitor, optimize, and scale services while partnering with product and engineering teams.

You will drive incident analysis, root-cause identification, and long-term improvements, and apply AI-assisted tooling to automate coding, testing, and deployment tasks. This role emphasizes security, observability, and scalable architectures.

Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure or GCP) in production environments.
• Hands-on with containerized/serverless workloads and Cloud Run/Azure equivalents.
• Experience operating MongoDB including backup and recovery.
• Experience with Java microservices frameworks (Quarkus) and Docker.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Ability to work autonomously from analysis to implementation.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools and prompts.

Job description

• Deploy, operate, monitor, and continuously improve cloud-based applications and services.
• Take ownership of operational topics, including troubleshooting, incident analysis, root-cause identification, and implementation of long-term improvements.
• Support the end-to-end application lifecycle, including requirements analysis, solution design, software development, testing, deployment, integration, security, compliance, and production support.
• Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and design reliable, secure, and scalable technical solutions.
• Improve automation, observability, deployment processes, and operational tooling to increase service reliability and engineering efficiency.

WHAT SKILLS WILL BE APPRECIATED?

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with containerized and serverless workloads, particularly Google Cloud Run or comparable Azure services.
• Experience operating and maintaining MongoDB, including configuration, monitoring, backup/restore, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Quarkus-based applications or comparable Java microservice frameworks.
  Good understanding of Docker/OCI containers.
  Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform.
• Ability to work autonomously, make sound technical decisions, and drive topics independently from analysis to implementation.

AI tools and AI-assisted engineering

• Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, or comparable solutions.
• Ability to use AI tools effectively for coding, scripting, troubleshooting, log analysis, documentation, testing, and automation.
• Ability to create effective prompts and provide the appropriate technical context to AI tools.
• Ability to critically review and validate AI-generated code and recommendations rather than relying on generated output without verification.
• Understanding of security, confidentiality, and data-protection considerations when using AI tools in an enterprise environment.
• Interest in identifying opportunities to use AI to increase engineering productivity and automate repetitive DevOps activities.

Technical meetings with the Hiring Manager and/or team members.

We will invite you to one or two project meetings to confirm that we have a ‘perfect match'. The meetings may last between 30 minutes and 90 minutes, during which time we will talk to you about mutual expectations and the vision for our collaboration. You will also most likely meet your future supervisor and your teammate during this time.

At this stage, we will have decided that you are the person we want to develop our projects with. We will then come back to you with an offer of collaboration, hoping for your "yes".
