Job summary

BorgWarner is seeking a Systems Engineering Supervisor (Traction Inverters) in Kraków to lead a team of systems engineers. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with line management, ensuring resources, priorities and development activities align with project goals.

The ideal candidate holds a Master's in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, has 8+ years in related roles, and demonstrates experience in power electronics, traction inverters, and functional safety (ISO 26262).

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in power electronics (hardware and/or software design) - mandatory.
  • Experience with traction inverters or electric motor controls.
  • 8+ years of experience across systems, software, and/or electrical engineering roles.
  • 2+ years of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of systems engineering principles, toolchains, and guidelines (e.g., INCOSE, MBSE).
  • Experience working within an ASPICE-compliant process environment.
  • Strong knowledge of requirements and architecture engineering principles.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering projects with functional safety (ISO 26262) requirements - mandatory.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.
  • Fluency in English required.

Responsibilities

  • Define, track and report team metrics.
  • Lead project escalations and remove blockers.
  • Ensure the team has the resources, skills and knowledge required to meet project needs.
  • Resolve priority conflicts and ensure clear task alignment with the team.

  • Serve as the first line of escalation for competency or resource-related issues.
  • Facilitate clear, transparent and effective communication within the team.
  • Drive awareness of and adherence to company processes and procedures.
  • Promote best practices and continuous improvements in processes and tools.
  • Act as a technical leader within the competency area.
  • Define, develop and maintain technical guidance documentation for development roles within the group.
  • Support recruitment of new employees.

The Systems Engineering Supervisor is a hands-on leader responsible for guiding a team of technical systems engineers. The role combines technical leadership with line management, including coordination, prioritization of team resources and oversight of systems engineering development activities.
