Job summary

BorgWarner’s Krakow center is seeking a System Test Lead for hybrid and electric vehicle programs. You will oversee V&V activities for inverters, motors, e-transmissions, and BEV systems using HIL/eDyne, coordinating cross-functional teams across locations.

The role requires 8+ years as a Systems/Software Test Engineer, leadership experience, and strong English communication. Travel within the EU is expected, with a focus on high-quality validations and audits.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in leading engineering teams.
  • 8+ years of experience as a Systems/Software Test Engineer.
  • Experience planning tasks at individual and team level.
  • Strong presentation skills to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop test cases for system, integration and functional testing in ASPICE environments.
  • Ability to create HIL/eDyne test plans and test cases from requirements.
  • Familiarity with ASPICE, ISO 26262 and cybersecurity standards preferred.
  • Domain expertise in electric drives, transmissions, battery management, or vehicle dynamics.
  • Strong intercultural and communication skills; travel within EU/international.
  • Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive test plans for each release and production phases.

  • Prepare release test summaries and execute release testing.

  • Follow the defect analysis and tracking procedures.
  • Report software and hardware failures to the development team and ensure closure.
  • Manage the overall budget for test equipment related to the project.

Serve as the System Test Lead for hybrid and electric vehicle programs, focusing on testing and validation of key components such as inverters, motors, e-transmissions, and other BEV systems using HIL and/or eDyne . Collaborate within diverse, cross-functional product development and testing teams across multiple locations to ensure high-quality system integration and performance.

Key responsibilities

What we’re looking for

  • Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in leading engineering teams.
  • 8+ years of experience as a Systems /Software Test Engineer.
  • Experienced in planning activities for both individual tasks and team-level responsibilities.
  • Skilled in presenting to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret functional and design requirements to develop test cases for system, integration, and functional testing in accordance with ASPICE processes.
  • Capable of creating HIL/eDyne test plans and test cases based on functional and design requirements.
  • Preferred tools knowledge includes:CANoe , CANape , TraceTronic ECU-Test, NI LabVIEW, NI VeriStand , TestStand , Diagra , ETAS INCA, ControlDesk NG, and Plastic SCM/Bitbucket.
  • Proficient in C and Python, with a basic understanding of MATLAB Simulink/Simscape models.
  • Familiar with test methods and test management tools such as Polarion, DOORS, and JIRA.
  • Knowledge of automotive standards including ASPICE, ISO 26262 (Functional Safety), and Cybersecurity standards is preferred.
  • Domain expertise in electric drives, transmission systems, battery management systems, and /or vehicle dynamics is a strong asset
  • Strong interpersonal skills and high intercultural competence.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within the EU or internationally.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with global teams in an agile environment.Fluency in English is required.
