Job summary

Eaton in Gdańsk, Poland, is seeking a Specification Sales Engineer for Emergency Lighting and Life Safety. You will drive early engagement with specifying entities and influence project specifications to convert opportunities.

You’ll manage territory, qualify leads, and coordinate with engineering and sales teams to shape solutions for commercial and institutional buildings. The role requires 2–5 years of relevant experience, a degree in Electrical Engineering, and fluency in Polish and English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent education.
• 2–5 years of experience in relevant field.
• Fluent Polish and English.

Responsibilities

• Identify and engage specifying entities early in projects (engineering offices, consultants, end-users).
• Influence specifications and track opportunity sources throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop territory plan and manage key accounts for ongoing engagement.
• Qualify leads and manage CRM to drive quotes and conversions.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure seamless project execution.

What you’ll do:

As a Specification Sales Engineer at Eaton, you will have the opportunity to align your skills, interests, and aspirations with a role that allows you to define your own goals. You will be responsible for expanding and maintaining a network of specifying entities—such as engineering offices, consultants, and end‑users—ensuring Eaton is involved early in the project lifecycle. You will influence specifications, track project sources, and ensure internal alignment to maximize opportunity conversion and solution adoption.

Core Activities

• Prospecting: Identify new specifying entities and early‑stage projects through proactive research and outreach.
• Planning Territory: Strategically manage your assigned region to optimize coverage and engagement with key specifying entities.
• Qualifying Leads: Assess and validate leads determining their relevance and potential for specification engagement.
• Building Relationships with Priority Specifying Entities: Cultivate long‑term relationships with consultants, engineers, and end‑users to influence project direction.
• Planning Account Actions: Develop account‑specific strategies to drive specification success and long‑term engagement.
• Conducting Discovery: Gather detailed insights into customer needs, project requirements, and decision‑making processes.
• Drafting Initial Concepts: Create early‑stage technical and commercial proposals tailored to project specifications.
• Transferring Descriptive Concepts to Backend: Ensure smooth handover of project concepts to internal teams for execution and follow‑up.
• Communicating with Internal Stakeholders: Coordinate with Project Sales Engineers, back office, and project management to ensure project continuity.
• Conducting Business Reviews: Participate in reviews to evaluate pipeline health, customer feedback, and performance metrics.
• Managing Pipeline (incl. Opportunity Management and Quote Management): Use CRM tools to track opportunities, manage quotes, and ensure timely follow‑up.
• Handling Administration: Complete documentation, reporting, and CRM updates accurately and efficiently.
• Continuous Improvement: Apply feedback and insights to improve processes, tools, and personal effectiveness.
• Reaching Beyond: Explore new ways to expand Eaton’s influence and contribute to cross‑functional initiatives.
• Optimizing & Standardizing Specification Processes: Identify and implement best practices to streamline and scale specification efforts.
• Participating in Industry Events & Networking: Represent Eaton at industry events to build visibility, gather insights, and strengthen relationships.

Qualifications:

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or justifiable equivalent education.
• Previous Experience: 2–5 years of experience.

Skills:

• Product and Industry Knowledge: Experience in Commercial & Institutional (C&I) Building Projects in electrical design or project management for large C&I projects, Emergency Lighting product knowledge.
• Required Languages: fluent Polish and English.
