What You’ll Do At Elekta

As a Software Upgrade Specialist, you will deliver technical software upgrades for Elekta customers across Europe, from planning and installation through testing, validation and go‑live support. Upgrades are delivered remotely and at customer sites, and you will work closely with customers, project managers, trainers, engineers, distributors and technical service colleagues to help ensure each upgrade is completed safely, professionally and with minimal disruption to clinical treatments. This is a customer‑facing role requiring significant flexibility. Travel of up to 50% across Europe may be required, including travel at short notice. Upgrade activities are frequently scheduled outside standard working hours and at weekends, with up to 75% of weekends potentially scheduled for customer upgrade activities. When you are not performing upgrades, you may provide technical advice and support to colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Keep customers and the Upgrade Project Manager informed of progress, risks and issues throughout upgrade activities.

  • Support customer acceptance testing and complete software upgrade documentation and process sign‑off within the scope of the role.
  • Provide post‑upgrade support to customers, Elekta trainers and project managers, including questions or issues arising during testing, validation and go‑live.
  • Be available, as required, to support calls from customers, Elekta engineers and distributors related to upgrades.
  • Escalate technical issues that may become significant, including issues that could prevent or delay software rollouts.
  • Keep relevant Elekta business teams and distributors updated on the progress of issues being managed.
  • Perform installation work and software upgrades at customer sites and remotely as required.
  • Travel at short notice when needed to help resolve technical or customer‑site issues.
  • Maintain a safe, organised and effective working environment when working remotely or at customer locations, including appropriate risk assessments.
  • Carry out work in accordance with Elekta quality, regulatory and safety policies and promptly report issues that could affect project delivery, system reliability or personnel safety.
  • When not engaged in scheduled upgrade activities, support the Technical Service Department with technical advice, remote or office‑based support, and other relevant tasks.
What You’ll Bring
  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge across PC and network computing environments, including SQL, Citrix, Microsoft cloud solutions, storage configuration, virtualization, Active Directory and Windows operating systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with customers and colleagues both in Polish and English.
  • Demonstrated customer care skills and a professional, service‑oriented approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also managing your own workload and maintaining technical knowledge independently.
  • Flexibility to travel up to 50% across Europe and to work outside standard hours, including scheduled weekend upgrade activities.
  • Experience in a technical support environment is desirable.
  • Knowledge of healthcare environments is desirable.
  • Commitment to following Elekta quality, regulatory and safety policies and representing Elekta professionally in all customer interactions.
