Job summary

Sentinel Eagle is seeking a hands-on software engineer to build autonomous UAV systems. The role focuses on software for perception, navigation, and operation in challenging environments, using Python, C++, or Rust on Linux.

You will work on embedded Linux on Raspberry Pi-like platforms, integrate with autopilot and cameras, and develop tools for data visualization and analysis to improve on-site testing and performance.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python or C++/Rust with solid Linux development experience.
• Experience with CI/CD, testing, and deployment workflows.
• Ability to prioritize work and maintain code quality in embedded/AI projects.

At Sentinel Eagle, we build autonomous UAV systems that work where GPS and communications fail. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone excited to build software that directly impacts how autonomous aerial systems perceive, navigate, and operate.

Technology Stack

Our core stack includes:

• Python as the main programming language
• C++ and Rust for performance-critical components and ArduPilot integration
• OpenCV, PyTorch, and Hailo for computer vision and AI
• MAVLink/ArduPilot for communication with the autopilot
• Raspberry Pi/Linux as the embedded environment

What you will work on and what problems you may solve

You will work on software for autonomous drones, including:

• development of robust and efficient systems that end up being our core products
• creation of internal tools for visualization and analysis of data from our on-site tests
• integration with autopilot, cameras, and onboard devices
• computer vision pipelines for detection, tracking, and image processing
• embedded Linux software on Raspberry Pi

This role sits at the intersection of software, embedded systems, and AI.

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone with:

• high familiarity with at least one of those languages: Python, Rust, C++
• experience with Linux-based development
• solid prioritization skills and clear judgment on what deserves focus
• fluid in standard software-engineer practices, such as git, CI, testing, deployment

Nice to have

Nice to have:

• experience with MAVLink/ArduPilot or tracking/detection systems
• familiarity with embedded devices such as Raspberry Pi
• knowledge of topics related to Linux and operating systems
