Job summary

Mars Snacking is seeking a Site HSE Manager for the Mars Factory in Janaszówek, Poland. This on-site role leads the site's HSE strategy and programs to protect people and the environment while supporting manufacturing operations.

Reporting to the Site Manager, you will collaborate with Operations, Project Engineering, and Wellness teams, backed by Mars Regional HSE and external experts to drive risk reduction and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of experience in a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
• University degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related technical field and officially recognized HSE qualifications/certifications.
• Deep understanding of local HSE legislation, environmental permits, and compliance standards.
• Experience in risk assessment methodologies, root cause analysis (RCA), and implementing effective CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions).

Responsibilities

• Create and communicate the site's HSE strategy, vision, and key objectives.
• Develop and deploy local HSE standards and procedures tailored to the site’s operations.
• Ensure full compliance with all relevant safety and environmental legislation, permits, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead thorough investigations of HSE-related incidents, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions implemented.
• Drive timely resolution of non-conformities identified through internal audits or third-party inspections.
• Leverage a data-driven approach to prioritize HSE activities and foster continuous improvement.
• Deliver engaging training and coaching to ensure HSE expectations are understood and adopted site-wide.
• Provide expert HSE guidance during capital project reviews and change management processes.
• Equip and empower the Site Emergency Response Team and manage the HSE budget.
• Oversee and implement physical security requirements and coordinate with inspectors and auditors.
