Qualifications

As a Shared Services Finance Automation & Process Transformation Analyst, you will lead the redesign and automation of the core back office finance processes that keep the firm running - cost allocations, the monthly close and reporting cycle, budgeting, and audit support. This is a combined transformation and execution role: you will not only rebuild these processes but also own and run them on an ongoing basis. It suits a hands-on builder who naturally gravitates toward process transformation, enjoys eliminating manual, repetitive work through AI, agentic workflows, scripting, and automation, and wants to own the result end to end rather than hand it off.

Rather than executing these back office processes manually month after month, you'll redesign them- building scalable, well-controlled solutions that improve the speed, accuracy, and transparency of allocations, reporting, and expense analysis- and then own the running of those processes on the platform you have built. You will be accountable for both the transformation and the ongoing, timely delivery of the outputs.

You will work across a firmwide shared services organization that supports both Cantor Fitzgerald and BGC Group, partnering with the Shared Services FP&A team and function leads to simplify workflows, automate recurring processes, and deliver more timely, intuitive, and actionable management reporting. A solid working knowledge of finance is important - enough to own and run these processes with confidence - but we are equally interested in someone who can transform a process through technology, not simply execute it manually. The ideal candidate is genuinely excited about AI and emerging technologies, constantly questions how work can be done better, and enjoys turning repetitive back office activities into scalable, automated solutions that they then own.

Key responsibilities

• Automate the monthly cost allocation process - replacing manual spreadsheets and journal preparation with AI-, scripting-, and workflow-driven solutions that distribute back office costs across the firm's business lines and cost centers - and own the monthly allocation run once redesigned (e.g., Python, SQL, Power Automate).
• Streamline and automate the month-end reporting and close cycle across all back office functions, reducing manual data consolidation, validation, and recurring reporting while shortening the time to deliver results.
• Design and build AI-enabled budgeting, run-rate, headcount, and expense analytics solutions that improve the speed, accuracy, and scalability of the annual budget and year-end compensation review processes.
• Partner with the Shared Services FP&A team and function leads to redesign Budget vs. Actuals and variance analysis, embedding automated commentary, exception flagging, and self-service reporting.
• Modernise cost center and reporting hierarchy governance - building automated controls, master-data checks, and reconciliations that keep the firm's allocation and reporting structures clean and audit-ready.
• Support internal and external audit and control requirements by automating evidence gathering, reconciliations, and documentation, strengthening the control environment around core back office processes.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend practical use cases that improve productivity, strengthen controls, and enhance decision support across the shared services organization.
• Own the redesigned processes end to end - running the monthly allocation, close, reporting, and analysis cycles on the automated platform you build, and standing behind the accuracy and timeliness of the outputs rather than handing them off to another team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Computer Science, Data/Business Analytics, or a related discipline.
• 3-8 years of experience in finance, shared services, business analytics, process improvement, data analytics, automation, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience applying AI and automation to solve business problems - building workflows, automations, or tools using LLMs (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot), Python, SQL, Power BI, Power Automate, and APIs. This is valued above deep traditional FP&A experience.
• A proven track record of redesigning and automating manual, high-volume processes such as allocations, reconciliations, close, or month-end reporting - ideally within a back office, shared services, or controllership environment.
• Finance and FP&A experience with cost allocations, budgeting, month-end close, and financial data flows - supported by strong Excel skills.
• A detail-oriented, control-minded, analytical mindset with a strong bias toward automation, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with finance and shared services teams across multiple regions and entities.
