Job summary

Chicago Atlantic in Warsaw seeks an experienced finance professional to scaffold AI-driven workflows for valuations, risk, and client reporting. You will collaborate with AI engineers and clients, ensuring finance is correctly represented in automation, while contributing to building our Europe office.

You will work across time zones with US clients and travel as needed, bringing deep valuation judgment and end-to-end process experience to drive rapid, high-impact outcomes.

Qualifications

• 6 to 8 years in a relevant finance role.
• Restructuring, turnaround or special situations experience.
• Valuation, equity or credit research background.
• End-to-end finance process experience.

Responsibilities

• Scope workflows with clients and translate into a clear, buildable spec.
• Find value and risk by mining financial data across credits, equities and portfolios.
• Deliver with the AI engineering team; act as the finance expert on the delivery team.
• Own output quality; build test cases and maintain senior-review standards.
• Encode domain knowledge; write rules and playbooks for automation.

We've seen how much value AI can create for firms that can't compete at scale with the analytics and data systems they have today, and we're building AI systems to change that. That means frontier AI engineering applied to the workflows that investment and wealth management firms actually run on, with a focus on running valuations that help unlock enterprise value, driving financial restructuring, facilitating distressed debt workouts and providing risk analytics - all with AI.

What we're building

A lot of finance work lives in people's heads and in documents nobody has structured. Think of how a portfolio gets reviewed, how a position gets valued, or how a client report gets prepared. AI can run these workflows, but only once someone has mapped them properly. It can also find things a human team wouldn't have time to look for: value, risk and early warning signs sitting in data nobody has joined up. We use AI to help us study companies both with breadth (large numbers of companies) but also with depth (going deep into the fundamentals that drive value).

Our core workflows are already live. Every new client brings new workflows to scope and deliver, and new data to mine.

Why this role is for you

You've done the finance work yourself and seen how much of it is manual and fragile. You want to fix that, and you want to use AI to find insights that were never practical to find before. You'll work next to AI engineers every day and see your work used by real clients within weeks. You believe in moving fast and driving impactful change at how financial firms do things.

Core responsibilities

• Scope workflows. Sit with clients to understand how a finance process really runs, then turn it into a clear, buildable spec: the steps, inputs, outputs, rules, edge cases, and what "done" looks like.
• Find value and risk. Use AI tools to mine financial data across credits, equities and portfolio positions. Surface opportunities, mispricing and early signs of distress, and bring a valuation or restructuring analyst's judgment to whether the signal is real.
• Deliver with the AI engineering team. Be the finance expert on the delivery team. Brief the engineers, review what they build and push back when it's wrong. The product manager owns the technical design. You own making sure the finance is right.
• Own output quality. Check AI-generated analysis with a practitioner's eye. Build test cases, find where it breaks and hold it to the standard a senior reviewer would expect.
• Encode domain knowledge. Write the rules, templates and worked examples the AI runs on, and turn each delivery into reusable playbooks so the next one goes faster.
• Build our Europe Office. Contribute to helping us build up our office and manage its growth from zero to one.

Must-haves

• 6 to 8 years in a relevant finance role. Strong backgrounds include:
• Restructuring, turnaround or special situations, whether in-house, at an advisory firm or at a fund
• Valuation, equity research or credit research
• Investment analysis or portfolio monitoring at a fund or asset manager
• Transaction services or financial due diligence at a Big 4 or advisory firm
• Fund administration, fund accounting or wealth management portfolio analysis
• Valuation judgment. You can look at a company or a position and form a view on what it's worth, what could go wrong, and what it would take to turn it around.
• Hands-on with a real process. You've run a recurring finance process end to end and know where it breaks.
• Curiosity about AI. You're already experimenting and want this to become your core skill.
• Cross-region hours and travel. You're comfortable with some overlap with US and Singapore hours and can travel to the US when needed.
• Entrepreneurial Culture Fit. We want people interested in building things from scratch, working with a fast-moving team, and is impact-focused, not a bureaucrat.

Nice-to-haves

• Restructuring-adjacent work, such as 13-week cash flow forecasts, liquidity analysis, lender reporting, covenant reviews or distressed M&A
• CFA, ACCA or CIMA (passed or in progress)
