Job summary

Talanto is seeking a senior video playback engineer to own end-to-end video player development for web and Connected TV platforms. You will design, implement, and optimize playback features using Bitmovin, JW Player, HLS.js, and Shaka, ensuring low latency and high QoE across devices.

You will debug complex playback issues, collaborate with cross-functional teams in a remote, fast-paced environment, and contribute to testing and API integration for reliable streaming experiences.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building and maintaining video players and live playback for web and Connected TV.
• Hands-on with Bitmovin, JW Player, HLS.js or Shaka for tuning and troubleshooting live streams.
• Debug and optimize playback performance: rebuffering, startup time, stability.
• Familiar with live playback concepts: latency, live edge, drift, ABR, DRM integration.
• Strong English communication and ability to work remotely in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Design, architect, and implement video player features across web and CTV platforms.
• Build and optimize player components using listed streaming frameworks.
• Troubleshoot playback issues and improve QoE metrics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams using agile methodologies.
• Provide technical specs and documentation for playback features.
• Contribute to React Native implementations for multi-device environments.
• Write automated tests and consume RESTful APIs to support playback integrations.
