Kake is a remote-first company and a people-first global community of senior engineers. We’re seeking a Senior Android Video Player Engineer to own end-to-end live streaming playback across Android and Android TV.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize Android video player frameworks for live streaming.
• Customize ExoPlayer components and ABR logic to improve playback performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve playback issues in live streaming, including buffering and latency.
• Work with dynamic MPD/M3U8 manifests and adaptive bitrate logic.
• Integrate and maintain ad technologies (IMA, DAI, SSAI) within the player framework.
• Use QoE analytics to diagnose issues and improve real-world playback performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure playback quality across devices.
• Contribute to best practices and continuous improvement across streaming projects.
