Job summary

Kake is a remote-first company and a people-first global community of senior engineers. You’ll design, build, and own video player features across web and connected TV, collaborating with teams across time zones to ship reliable playback and live streaming experiences.

The role focuses on using Bitmovin, JW Player, HLS.js, and Shaka, improving QoE, latency, and ABR decisions, with opportunities to work in React Native for multi-device environments and contribute to tests and docs.

Qualifications

• Experience building and maintaining video players for web and TV platforms.
• Hands-on with Bitmovin, JW Player, HLS.js, or Shaka, including live streaming.
• Ability to debug playback performance and reduce rebuffering.
• Familiarity with ABR, DRM, and latency management.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize video player features across web and Connected TV.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams using agile methodologies.
• Write tests and document playback APIs.
• Analyze QoE metrics and improve real-world playback quality.
• Support multi-device deployments including React Native for CTV.
