Job summary

CD PROJEKT RED is seeking a Senior Technical Animator to join the Technical Animation team working on The Witcher 4 on a 6 month fixed-term employment contract. Focus on the implementation, development, and stabilization of character animation systems using Unreal Engine 5's Unreal Animation Framework (UAF/AnimNext).

You’ll collaborate with Animators, Designers, Programmers, and other Technical Animators to deliver reliable, high-quality animation systems for The Witcher 4.

Qualifications

• At least 5+ years experience in Technical Animation on AAA or large-scale projects.
• Hands-on Unreal Engine 5 animation systems experience including Animation Blueprints and Control Rig.
• Strong understanding of locomotion, IK and physics-driven animation.
• Ability to debug, diagnose runtime issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Ability to take ownership of unfamiliar technical systems and drive solutions.

Responsibilities

• Implement, refactor, and stabilize character animation systems in UE5 using UAF/AnimNext.
• Own existing systems and ensure reliability and reusability across NPCs, humanoid enemies, monsters.
• Develop animation features for NPCs and enemies and fix animation bugs.
• Collaborate with Animators, Designers and Programmers to deliver high-quality animation systems.
• Document systems, share knowledge, and enable team-wide usage.
