Job summary

CD PROJEKT RED is seeking a Senior Technical Animator to join the Technical Animation team on The Witcher 4, under a 6 month fixed-term contract. You will implement, develop, and stabilize character animation systems using Unreal Engine 5 and UAF/AnimNext, owning solutions and ensuring robustness and reusability.

Work with Animators, Designers, and Programmers to deliver reliable animation features for NPCs, humanoid enemies, and monsters, tackling runtime bugs and performance issues while

Qualifications

• 5+ years in technical animation, preferably on AAA games.
• Extensive hands-on Unreal Engine 5 animation experience.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills for runtime issues.
• Ability to understand unfamiliar technical systems quickly.

Responsibilities

• Implement, refactor, and stabilize animation systems within Unreal Engine 5 using UAF/AnimNext.
• Own existing systems, improve reliability and performance across character types.
• Develop features for NPCs, humanoid enemies, and monsters, including IK and ragdoll physics.
• Diagnose and fix animation bugs, crashes, and visual artifacts.
• Collaborate with Animators, Designers, and Programmers to integrate systems into gameplay.
• Document workflows and enable team members to use and maintain systems.
