CD PROJEKT RED is seeking a Senior Technical Animator to join the Technical Animation team for The Witcher 4 on a 6 month fixed-term contract. You will implement, develop, and stabilize character animation systems in Unreal Engine 5 using UAF/AnimNext, owning solutions for NPCs, humanoid enemies, and monsters.

You will collaborate with Animators, Designers, Programmers and other Technical Animators to deliver robust systems, fix runtime issues, and ensure animation integrates smoothly with

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Technical Animation, AAA or large-scale games preferred.
• Hands-on Unreal Engine 5 animation systems experience (Animation Blueprints, state machines, Control Rig).
• Deep understanding of locomotion, IK, and physics-driven animation.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving for runtime issues and artifacts.

Responsabilités

• Implementing, refactoring, and stabilizing character animation systems within Unreal Engine 5's UAF/AnimNext via editor-based graphs and nodes.
• Owning existing and partial systems, improving reliability and reusability across characters.
• Developing animation features for NPCs, humanoid enemies, and monsters (hit reactions, IK, ragdoll).
• Investigating and resolving animation bugs, crashes, and performance bottlenecks with cross-functional teams.
• Supporting animation implementation, content setup, debugging and tuning to ensure in-game behavior aligns with authoring intent.
• Collaborating with other disciplines to integrate animation systems into gameplay and production requirements.
• Documenting animation systems and workflows for team-wide knowledge sharing.
