Job summary

CD PROJEKT RED is seeking a Senior Technical Animator to join the Technical Animation team for The Witcher 4 on a 6-month fixed-term contract. You will implement and stabilize animation systems in Unreal Engine 5, focusing on UAF/AnimNext and state machines, ensuring robust, reusable solutions across NPCs, enemies, and monsters.

You will collaborate with Animators, Designers, Programmers, and other Technical Animators to deliver high-quality animation systems, troubleshoot complex runtime

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Technical Animation, preferably in AAA or large-scale projects.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Unreal Engine 5 animation systems (Animation Blueprints, state machines, Control Rig).
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills for runtime issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Ability to understand unfamiliar technical systems quickly and own complex solutions.

Responsibilities

• Implement, refactor, and stabilize character animation systems in Unreal Engine 5 using UAF/AnimNext.
• Own existing systems, improve reliability and reusability across characters.
• Develop animations for NPCs, humanoid enemies, and monsters, including IK and ragdoll workflows.
• Investigate and resolve animation bugs, crashes, and performance issues in collaboration with engineers.
