Job summary

Alarm.com Kraków is seeking a versatile Staff Software Engineer (SRE) to join its Video team. You will own reliability for core systems, drive observability, and lead incident responses in a fast-growing security tech environment.

You will work across software, infra, and data flows, collaborating with product and engineering to meet reliability goals and scale operations while balancing delivery speed and resilience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in computing.
• 10+ years of professional software engineering with production operations.
• Proven reliability improvements in distributed systems.
• Deep observability and production support practices.
• Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, HTTP).
• Experience with Kubernetes, Kafka, Redis; cloud infra (Azure a plus).
• OO design and SDLC fundamentals; C#/.NET a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own reliability for core production systems, including deployments and on-call.
• Drive capacity planning across cloud and physical infrastructure.
• Define reliability goals and operational outcomes (availability, MTTR).
• Lead observability improvements across metrics, logs, traces, alerts.
• Build automation and tooling to improve reliability and velocity.
• Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to align priorities.
• Shape database and data‑processing reliability and safe deployments.
