Boehringer Ingelheim is seeking a results-oriented finance professional in Wroclaw to join the GVC Run Team. You will combine product costing expertise with operational problem solving in a global setting, ensuring reliable COGS data and stable end-to-end value-chain processing across planning and reporting cycles.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, controlling or a related field.
  • Approximately 3–5 years of professional experience in management accounting or costing.
  • Strong SAP/ERP knowledge and confidence with financial data and reporting tools.
  • Excellent English skills for global collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Run and monitor daily GVC activities supporting product costing and COGS readiness.
  • Investigate complex value-chain issues and determine corrective actions with cross-functional teams.
  • Work with GVC tools, SAP/ERP data, and validate results across cycles.
  • Act as second-level support for escalations and manage priorities against deadlines.
  • Coordinate end-to-end solutions with GBS Product Costing, Controlling, and Supply Chain.
  • Ensure data quality, traceability, and compliance with finance procedures.
  • Contribute to budgets, outlooks and transitions of new processes into operations.

Job description

Are you interested in combining product costing expertise with operational problem solving in a global environment? As part of the GVC Run Team, you will help ensure reliable cost-of-goods data and stable end-to-end value-chain processing across planning and reporting cycles. You will analyze complex cases, coordinate solutions across functions and locations, and help develop the processes, tools and knowledge base of a newly established global run organization.

The Position

As part of the GVC Run Team, you will help ensure reliable cost-of-goods data and stable end-to-end value-chain processing across planning and reporting cycles. You will analyze complex cases, coordinate solutions across functions and locations, and help develop the processes, tools and knowledge base of a newly established global run organization.

Tasks & Responsabilities
  • Running GVC operations: Execute and monitor daily GVC activities that support product costing, COGS readiness, and stable processing across planning and reporting cycles.
  • Analyzing and resolving complex issues: Investigate incomplete or incorrect value chains, identify root causes, and determine the appropriate corrective actions in close collaboration with process and system experts.
  • Managing GVC tools and data: Work with the GVC Planning Tool, Sales Structure Status, Validation Tool, and relevant SAP/ERP data to analyze cases, maintain required inputs, and verify results after cycle runs.
  • Managing escalations and priorities: Act as a second-level support contact for complex cases, document open issues, proactively identify risks, and support prioritization based on business deadlines and COGS readiness requirements.
  • Coordinating end-to-end solutions: Collaborate with GBS Product Costing, local and corporate Controlling, Supply Chain, IT, process owners, and external support partners to resolve cross-functional dependencies.
  • Ensuring data quality and controls: Validate that changes are complete, traceable, and compliant with applicable finance procedures, governance standards, and risk-control requirements before closure.
  • Supporting business cycles and transitions: Contribute to Budget, LTF, Outlook, and Actuals activities, as well as deployments, migrations, hypercare phases, and the transition of new processes into stable operations.
  • Creating transparency: Maintain status overviews, prepare ad hoc analyses, and communicate progress, blockers, decisions, and required actions to relevant stakeholders.
  • Driving process and tool improvements: Identify recurring issues, propose practical improvements, support automation, standardization, and the further development of GVC-related tools and reporting solutions.
  • Building sustainable knowledge: Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, decision guides, and training materials; facilitate workshops and knowledge-transfer sessions within the global team.

Additionally, we are looking for:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Controlling, Business Administration or a comparable field
  • Approximately 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience in management accounting, product costing, operations controlling or a related finance process, ideally in a manufacturing environment
  • Sound understanding of product costing, cost-of-goods and end-to-end value-chain processes
  • Strong SAP/ERP knowledge and confidence in working with financial systems, data extracts and reporting tools
  • Advanced analytical and problem‑solving skills, including the ability to investigate data inconsistencies and translate findings into clear actions
  • Professional English skills, ideally at C1 level, for effective collaboration in a global environment
  • Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • A structured, customer‑oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to challenge assumptions, proactively manage risks, and drive issues to resolution
  • A collaborative approach combined with an interest in process improvement, automation, standardization, and knowledge sharing; experience in global planning cycles, transfer pricing, or inventory accounting is an advantage
