Job summary

Grand Parade, part of evoke, Krakow, is seeking a Software Developer to design, develop and maintain high-quality software with performance, scalability and maintainability at the core. You will work in an agile Scrum team, mentor junior developers, drive features from concept to production, and ensure non-functional requirements such as security, reliability and monitoring are built in.

Qualifications

• Solid experience with Python, MySQL & Linux; version control systems, ideally Git.
• Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced development schedule.
• Experience in Kafka, ActiveMQ (or other messaging platforms), Docker, AWS.
• Good understanding of working within an Agile environment, with knowledge of asynchronous networking libraries such as Twisted or Tornado, Redis and other modern non-relational data storage systems.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing high-quality code with performance optimisation, extensibility, and maintainability at the forefront.
• Mentoring and supporting junior developers to help them grow their skills and capabilities.
• Owning and ensuring non-functional requirements are met, including scalability, performance, monitoring, maintenance, security, and usability.
• Taking initiative and ownership to drive tasks through to completion, overcoming challenges with positivity and creativity.
• Leading technical and functional discussions within the Scrum team while building deep knowledge of the system and its architecture.
• Functionally testing all developed code to a high standard, enabling efficient and effective QA testing.
• Providing support and resolution for production issues as they arise.
• Coaching, mentoring and assisting junior team members to develop their skills while maintaining consistently high-quality deliverables.
