Job summary

Thomson Reuters Corp. in Gdansk seeks a Senior Counsel to advise on and negotiate complex SaaS, software, data and technology agreements for global product sales.

You will be a hands-on lawyer in a dynamic, data-driven legal department, supporting Sales, Product Management and other business teams to simplify and expedite contracting. The role requires 7+ years post-qualification experience on the sell side, strong English, and solid expertise in SaaS and commercial law.

Qualifications

• 7 years minimum post-qualification experience in private practice and/or as in-house counsel advising on the sell side of technology transactions.
• Excellent written/verbal English language communication skills.
• German, French or Spanish language skills or experience in these jurisdictions is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of contract and commercial law, especially SaaS products and solutions.
• Excellent negotiation and drafting skills.
• Ability to think strategically and creatively to resolve issues.
• Authorization to practice law.
• Experience negotiating data processing, data protection and cybersecurity clauses incl. GDPR and data transfers, knowledge of US privacy laws is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of customer-facing and partner agreements, including SaaS, information licensing, data protection and security, hosting, and professional services agreements.
• Identify legal, regulatory and compliance requirements and develop mitigation strategies.
• Research and respond to general legal inquiries related to corporate, commercial, IP and compliance matters, including privacy.
