Transcenda is seeking a Lead Rust Engineer to own the technical direction and build backend services and APIs for a next-generation data platform. The project focuses on Rust with some C# and Ruby, guiding migrations to a new API surface.

Qualifikationen

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience in production.
• 2+ years in a tech lead role.
• Hands-on Rust with async services (Tokio/Axum/Actix).
• Reading and safely modifying an existing Ruby codebase.
• Strong REST and/or gRPC API design, versioning and migrations.
• Relational databases and service-to-service integration.
• Experience with testing, CI/CD and observability.
• Ability to ramp up quickly on unfamiliar codebases and lead teams.

Aufgaben

• Set technical direction, priorities and engineering standards.
• Own architecture and API design for the new service layer and migration path from legacy systems.
• Design, build and maintain backend services and APIs with Rust as the primary language.
• Develop and extend the Rust service layer at the core of the platform.
• Migrate clients from C# and Ruby to the new API surface with minimal disruption.
• Collaborate with client leads and the Transcenda team.
• Write well-tested, observable, production-ready code and maintain code quality through reviews.
