Kake, a remote-first, people-first global community of engineers, seeks Senior Rust Engineers to build scalable, memory-safe backend services. You will work across distributed systems, tackle performance-critical challenges, and lead architectural decisions while collaborating with a global team.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in Rust, strong systems programming background, and excellent English communication.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering with Rust.
• Deep understanding of Rust ownership model, lifetimes, traits, and macros.
• Experience in systems programming with multithreading and performance-critical apps.
• Hands-on async programming in Rust using frameworks like Tokio.
• Familiarity with Rust toolchain, Cargo, Git workflows, and CI/CD.
• Proven ability to design scalable backend services and distributed systems.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable, memory-safe backend services and distributed systems in Rust.
• Write high-performance, concurrent Rust code.
• Build and maintain asynchronous services using Tokio and async/await patterns.
• Apply ownership, lifetimes, and macro concepts to write idiomatic Rust.
• Lead architectural decisions and raise engineering standards across projects.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and optimize architectures.
