Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. is seeking a Lead Rust Software Engineer to consolidate UL Link, T-Bricks, and CQG into a unified platform. You will design a distributed caching layer, leverage QuestDB, and mentor peers while shaping scalable, low-latency data pipelines.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in Rust, strong distributed systems experience, and familiarity with market data, Linux performance, and streaming systems like Kafka. Excellent English communication is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Rust with a background in distributed systems.
• Experience building low-latency, high-throughput systems.
• Knowledge of time-series databases such as QuestDB, KDB, or InfluxDB.
• Understanding of capital markets / market data, including equities, derivatives, futures & options.
• Proficiency in system design for scalable, fault-tolerant architectures.
• Familiarity with Linux performance tuning and profiling tools.
• Proficiency in English at a B2+ level.
• Nice to have Experience with streaming/messaging systems such as Kafka.
• Familiarity with FIX protocol.
• Golang experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and build a distributed caching layer for high-throughput, low-latency market data distribution
• Leverage QuestDB to support fast data access across the platform
• Collaborate with technical leads on architecture and integration decisions
• Support consolidation of feed handlers and connectivity layers across UL Link, T-Bricks, and CQG
• Define data models and schemas to support normalized market and reference data
• Optimize memory management and concurrency patterns for ultra-low latency workloads
• Participate in code reviews and mentor team members on distributed systems best practices
