Kake is a remote-first company and a people-first global community of senior engineers, spanning 45,000+ engineers in 55+ countries. We’re seeking Senior Rust Engineers to own scalable, memory-safe backend systems and drive engineering best practices across mission-critical applications.

You’ll design and implement distributed services in Rust, use Tokio for asynchronous programming, and lead architectural decisions in a fast-paced, remote environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with hands-on Rust.
• Deep understanding of Rust concepts: ownership, borrow checker, lifetimes, traits, macros.
• Experience in systems programming with multithreading and performance-critical apps.
• Hands-on async programming in Rust using frameworks like Tokio.
• Comfortable with Rust toolchain, Cargo, CI/CD, and modern Git workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, memory-safe backend services and distributed systems in Rust.
• Write high-performance, concurrent Rust code with strong systems programming principles.
• Build and maintain asynchronous services using Tokio and async/await patterns.
• Apply Rust concepts to write robust, idiomatic code and guide architectural decisions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues and contribute to tooling improvements.
• Maintain modern Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines to support reliable delivery.
