Job summary

Larian Studios is seeking an RPG Designer to join the worldbuilding team, turning narrative into engaging gameplay. You will own the area’s design, collaborate with departments, and shape memorable adventures for players who expect rich storytelling.

Responsibilities include designing narrative and gameplay content, refining quest design, and maintaining clear documentation in an agile, on-site environment. Strong collaboration and storytelling instincts are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to lead a creative element of the game and coordinate with all involved parties.
• Creative problem solving and ability to iterate without reinventing the wheel.
• Strong understanding of narrative beats and pacing.
• Ability to anticipate player expectations and learn from feedback.
• Proficient with digital tools and agile workflows (G Suite, Confluence, Jira).

Responsibilities

• Design narrative and gameplay content for an area of the game, taking ownership through implementation and final quality.
• Ensure logical and well-paced narrative flow across situations, dialogues, and areas.
• Create solutions for quest design problems and follow through with implementation.
• Gather feedback from other departments and work with them to reach optimal finished state.
• Write and update documentation, communicate changes to the teams.
• Take a holistic approach when implementing changes to your region, considering limits and priorities across departments.
• Understand player motivations and expectations.
