Job summary

Larian Studios is seeking an RPG Designer to join the worldbuilding team and help craft high-caliber games. You will work with a team to transform narrative into engaging gameplay that reacts to player actions.

This on-site, full-time role requires strong collaboration, agile mindset, and passion for RPGs. You’ll design narrative and gameplay content, own areas, and ensure quality across dialogs, areas, and quest design.

Qualifications

• Lead a creative element of the game and coordinate with multiple teams.
• Develop creative solutions to new problems without reinventing the wheel.
• Strong narrative beats and pacing understanding.
• Understand player motivations and expectations daily.
• Observe players and filter feedback to inform design.
• Proficient with digital tools and software (G Suite, Confluence, Jira).
• Excellent organization and communication skills in an agile environment.
• On-site, full-time role requiring presence in the office.

Responsibilities

• Design narrative and gameplay content within an area of the game, own it through implementation.
• Ensure logical and well-paced narrative flow in dialogs and areas.
• Create solutions for quest design problems and follow their implementation.
• Conduct progress reviews, gather feedback, collaborate to reach final state.
• Write and update documentation, communicate changes to teams.
• Take a holistic approach; decisions impact multiple departments.
• Understand player motivations and expectations.
