Job summary

Reblade is seeking a Senior Robotics Software Engineer to own critical components of its drone-based, robotic wind-turbine repair platform. You will work across ROS2, embedded hardware integration, flight-control software, and safety-critical features.

The role covers implementation from concept through V&V, field testing and deployment, with emphasis on hardware/software integration and reliability. Remote EU freelance option and Denmark relocation support are offered.

Qualifications

• Strong experience developing robotics software using ROS2.
• Proficiency in Python and working knowledge of C++ and/or Rust.
• Experience with embedded systems and hardware-software integration.
• Hands-on experience integrating sensors, actuators, cameras, or similar hardware.
• Solid understanding of robotics architectures, control systems, state machines, and real-time applications.
• Experience with flight-control platforms such as ArduPilot, MAVLink, PX4.
• Experience with automated testing, simulation, CI/CD, or hardware-in-the-loop environments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across software, electronics, and system integration layers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain ROS2 nodes and packages in Python (and C++/Rust where needed) across modules.
• Own hardware abstraction layers for motor, sensor, and camera integration.
• Harden flight-controller integration and safety-critical logic.
• Extend ROS2 architecture including sensor fusion and new hardware integration.
• Diagnose and fix control-loop and state-machine issues across modules.
• Build out simulation and hardware-in-the-loop testing infrastructure.
• Support field validation, debugging, and performance/timing tuning on constrained embedded compute.
• Own full feature lifecycle — concept → development → V&V → field deployment with gate reviews.
