Job summary

Arup in Poland seeks a Senior Renewable Energy Consultant to lead technical advisory across wind, solar, BESS, hydrogen and related low‑carbon technologies. You will oversee feasibility, permitting, and development activities, guiding projects from early-stage concepts through delivery and operation.

We value cross‑disciplinary collaboration with engineers, environmental specialists, and planners, delivering innovative, sustainable energy solutions for clients in Poland and Europe.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Energy, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
• Significant professional experience in renewable energy consulting, engineering, project development, or technical advisory.
• Experience delivering renewable energy projects (solar PV, BESS, wind, hydrogen or other low-carbon tech).

Responsibilities

• Lead technical advisory and renewable energy consultancy assignments across multiple technologies (wind, solar, BESS, etc).
• Manage feasibility studies, site assessments, permitting support, and project development activities.
• Develop practical solutions addressing technical, regulatory, environmental, and commercial challenges.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated energy infrastructure projects.
• Engage with developers, utilities, investors, regulators, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support business development including proposals and client relationship management.
• Mentor junior consultants and engineers to share knowledge and drive technical excellence.

As part of our multidisciplinary team, you'll contribute to complex and high-profile projects throughout Poland and Europe. Working alongside engineers, environmental specialists, planners, economists, and project managers, you'll help clients overcome technical and regulatory challenges while delivering practical solutions that create lasting value.

The Opportunity

You will provide technical and strategic support throughout the project lifecycle, from early-stage feasibility and permitting through to project development, delivery, and operation. As a Senior Renewable Energy Consultant at Arup, you will:

• Lead technical advisory and renewable energy consultancy assignments across a range of technologies, including wind, solar, BESS, and emerging energy solutions.
• Manage feasibility studies, site assessments, technical evaluations, permitting support, and project development activities for renewable energy projects.
• Develop innovative and practical solutions that help clients address technical, regulatory, environmental, and commercial challenges.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated and sustainable energy infrastructure projects.
• Engage with developers, utilities, investors, regulators, and other stakeholders, providing trusted technical advice throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support business development activities, including proposal preparation, client relationship management, and identification of new market opportunities.
• Mentor junior consultants and engineers, fostering technical excellence and knowledge sharing across the team.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• Degree in Engineering, Energy, Environmental Science, or a related discipline, with significant professional experience in renewable energy consulting, engineering, project development, or technical advisory.
• Demonstrated experience delivering renewable energy projects, including solar PV and battery energy storage systems (BESS) or/and onshore or offshore wind, or/and hydrogen, or/and other low-carbon technologies.
• Strong understanding of renewable energy project development, feasibility assessment, permitting processes, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Experience managing projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams while maintaining high-quality technical deliverables.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with fluency in English and Polish.
