Billennium is seeking a Senior Python Engineer to lead automation for publishing and print production. You will design and build backend services, data pipelines, and integrations with external systems in a cloud-native environment.

You will own automated generation of print-ready PDF/X-3 files and work with product, AI, and engineering teams to deliver scalable solutions on AWS/EKS, ensuring quality, reliability, and prepress compliance.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience with Python and backend development.
• Hands-on experience with optimization and constraint-solving solutions (OR-Tools, CP-SAT).
• Knowledge of programmatic PDF generation and document rendering technologies.
• Understanding of publishing workflows, layout automation, and prepress standards.
• Experience with cloud-native environments (AWS, Kubernetes/EKS) and PostgreSQL.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop a platform that automates newspaper and advertising layout creation using optimization and constraint-solving technologies.
• Build and maintain Python-based backend services, data pipelines, and integrations with multiple external systems and data sources.
• Develop automated generation of print-ready PDF/X-3 files meeting strict publishing and production standards.
• Collaborate with product, AI, and engineering teams to deliver scalable solutions running on AWS/EKS.
