Job summary

Vatix is seeking a senior backend engineer to steer the architectural direction of a product area and produce production Python weekly. You will own technical specifications, guide a microteam of engineers, and contribute production code in a fully remote or hybrid setup.

The role centers on Django back-end work with a single multi-tenant product, focusing on data models, schemas, and efficient AI-assisted development practices. Strong architectural judgement is essential.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of backend engineering at a senior level.
• Strong Python and Django, including REST Framework.
• Demonstrable architectural judgement in designing non-trivial systems.
• Ability to lead technical initiatives and write clear specs.
• Professional English communication across teams.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical direction for a product area and its architecture.
• Lead one microteam and mentor junior engineers while writing production Python code.
• Write high-level technical specs and translate them into implementable plans.
• Collaborate with product to ensure prototypes align with long-term architecture.
• Participate in design reviews and ensure code quality through reviews.
