Job summary

Software Mind seeks an experienced Python backend engineer to build a private cloud for a government institution. You will migrate workloads, design and deploy backend services, and collaborate with architects and specialists across Europe.

The role progresses toward a tech lead, steering technical decisions, mentoring engineers, and shaping future directions for the engagement with a long-term client relationship.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of commercial Python experience.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and the software delivery lifecycle (GitLab).
• Testing frameworks (Robot Framework, Pytest).
• Experience with containers and Linux system administration.
• Infrastructure knowledge: firewalls, proxies, networking (IPv4/IPv6).
• Consulting mindset: align with business goals, defend solutions, handle underdefined scope.
• Ability to build client relationships and maintain trust in day-to-day work.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and deploy backend applications.
• Test and improve existing backend infrastructure.
• Meet with architects and designers on system and app design.
• Migrate workloads to the new environment and support production.
• Contribute to scope estimation and pre-sales input for client proposals.
