Job summary

WP Engine is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Platform in Poland to architect and implement backend capabilities for our high-scale cloud infrastructure. You will work at the intersection of software engineering, distributed systems, and production reliability, owning services from design to observability and support.

You will design scalable backend services, APIs, and integrations across cloud environments, while improving CI/CD, automation, testing, and engineering workflows.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and a passion for scalable, production systems.
• Experience designing REST/gRPC APIs and cloud-native architectures (GCP/AWS).
• Proficiency in DevOps, security, and IaC practices (Terraform, observability).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and operate scalable backend services and platform capabilities.
• Develop APIs and service integrations across distributed and cloud-based systems.
• Make design decisions around data flow, asynchronous processing, and performance.
• Own services through design, deployment, observability, and production support.
• Collaborate with teams to raise engineering standards and share knowledge.
