WP Engine is seeking a senior backend engineer to architect and implement scalable cloud infrastructure services. You will work at the intersection of software engineering, distributed systems, and production reliability, owning services from design to observability and support.

You will tackle resiliency, asynchronous workflows, automation, and system scalability, adapting to evolving architectures and cloud-native technologies.

Qualifications

• Backend services experience and ownership from design to operation.
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems and cloud-native patterns.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, IaC, and observability tooling.

Responsibilities

• Build, test, deploy, and maintain backend services and platform capabilities.
• Develop and integrate APIs using established service and architecture patterns.
• Work with relational data stores and ensure reliable data access and service integration.
