Job summary

WP Engine is seeking a senior backend engineer in Poland to architect and implement scalable cloud infrastructure. You will own services end-to-end, from design to observability, working at the intersection of software engineering and distributed systems.

You will focus on resiliency, asynchronous workflows, automation, and scalable architecture, collaborating with cross‑functional teams and leveraging AI‑assisted tooling to speed development while maintaining strong ownership.

Qualifications

• Backend services and platform experience.
• Experience with distributed systems.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering tools is a plus.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (GCP or AWS) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement backend capabilities for high-scale cloud infrastructure.
• Operate at the intersection of software engineering, distributed systems, and production reliability.
• Own services from design through observability and support.
