HSBC Holdings plc in Krakow is seeking a Senior Manager Valuations within Product Control Valuations to govern fair value for traded instruments and strengthen reporting and controls.

The role can be a people manager or individual contributor, focusing on governance, automation, and collaboration with Front Office and risk teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Product Control, Risk or Valuations within a trading environment.
• Knowledge of products, accounting, valuations, controls and markets across at least one asset class.
• Apply a strong controls mind-set and sound judgement across governance and oversight activities.
• Interpret regulatory requirements and guidelines for valuation and apply them to day-to-day work.
• Communicate valuation topics clearly to senior stakeholders including translating technical issues into non-technical language.
• Deliver projects to completion, coordinating resources and timelines across multiple stakeholders.
• Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across teams, locations and levels of seniority.
• Use strong IT skills including Python and MS Excel to improve productivity and support automation.

Join Product Control within Controllership in Finance - an expert function that delivers trust in the numbers through insight, controls and disciplined processes. This Senior Manager Valuations role sits in Product Control Valuations in Krakow and focuses on governance and oversight of fair value for traded instruments across Markets and Securities Services and Markets Treasury. You’ll help ensure valuation controls are consistently applied, support high quality financial reporting and strengthen credibility with regulators and auditors. The role can be structured as a people manager or an individual contributor.

What you’ll do

• Ensure fair value governance is adhered to through review and oversight of Fair Value Adjustments, Independent Price Verification and Prudent Valuation Adjustment
• Act as a key contact for Trading and partner with stakeholders across Front Office, Traded Risk, Operations, IT and Finance
• Manage local oversight and training while coordinating closely with Valuations teams across locations
• Shape valuations methodology, including global alignment and enhancements to processes and methodologies
• Implement changes to FVAs, IPV and PVA and support engagement on valuation topics including audit activity
• Strengthen consistency, quality and efficiency by coordinating with other asset class valuation teams
• Promote continuous improvement through procedures and systems changes, including automation of manual processes
• Maintain compliance with HSBC internal control standards, relevant regulations and the Global Markets FIM including timely closure of audit points

What you need to have to succeed in this role

What we offer

The pay range for this role is 20242 PLN - 30000 PLN monthly gross.

Additional car allowance in the amount of 4786 PLN monthly gross.

Variable pay is discretionary, but influenced by Group performance, business/function performance and individual performance.
